The 10.1? Dell Latitude ST tablet PC is available now for orders online through dell.com, the Windows 7 tablet PC for business professions starts at $859. Dell offers the new slate for purchase but they won’t ship any orders until November 29th, 2011.
Dell’s new Latitude ST slate combines a 10.1-inch 1280×800 capacitive touchscreen, a N-Trig active digitizer and digital pen, a low-power 1.65GHz Intel Atom Z670 single-core processor, up to 6 hours of battery life and business-class security to create what Dell calls the ideal mobile solution for professionals.
Other options for a mobile professional come in the form of the 8.9-inch HP Slate 2 and the 10.1-inch Fujitsu STYLISTIC Q550. Both the HP and Fujitsu slates offer business-ready features at prices that start well below $1000. The HP Slate 2 is the most recent competitor between the two non-Dell options, the HP was only revealed the other day and it will be replacing the almost one year old HP Slate 500.
When compared one realizes that each of these three Windows 7 tablet PCs comes with the same 1.65GHz Intel Atom Z670 single-core processor, an IPS LCD with an active digitizer, and all three also ship with speedy SSDs (flash memory based) storage for the OS and system storage.
The HP Slate 2 will go on sale later this month with a $699 starting price, the Fujitsu STYLISTIC Q550 is available now and starts at $729 direct from Fujitsu.
